Parents and kids training together creates a unique experience that few activities can offer. At Soca Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu San Diego, we believe children learn best when families are involved, which is why we create opportunities for parents to step onto the mats and share the Jiu-Jitsu journey with their children.
Through our Tiny Grapplers Parent & Me program and our monthly Parents Classes, families don’t just watch from the sidelines—they learn, grow, and create lasting memories together.
Since opening our doors in Rancho Bernardo in 2018, our family-owned academy has focused on building a community where parents play an active role in their child’s martial arts journey.
Why Parents and Kids Training Together Matters
One of the greatest benefits of parents and kids training together is the opportunity to create shared experiences.
When children see their parents learning new skills, making mistakes, and improving over time, they gain valuable lessons about perseverance and growth. Parents also gain a deeper understanding of their child’s challenges and accomplishments on the mats.
Instead of simply asking how class went, families experience the journey together.

Parents and Kids Training Together During Our Monthly Parents Class
Family involvement doesn’t stop with our youngest students.
Every month, we host a special Parents Class where parents can step onto the mats with their children and experience Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu firsthand.
These classes are designed to be fun, educational, and welcoming to all experience levels. Parents learn basic techniques, participate in drills, and create memorable experiences alongside their children.
The monthly Parents Class has become one of our favorite traditions because it reinforces what makes our academy different: a strong family culture.

A Family-Oriented Academy Since 2018
As a family-owned academy serving Rancho Bernardo since 2018, we believe martial arts should strengthen families, not separate them.
Whether you’re joining your toddler in Tiny Grapplers or participating in one of our monthly Parents Classes, you’ll discover why so many families choose Soca Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu San Diego as their home for martial arts training.
At our academy, parents aren’t just spectators.
They’re training partners, role models, and part of the journey.
